Merhaba from Istanbul!
We’re back in town (we were here in April 2022) and we got to stay for two weeks this time.
And wow, what an adventure we’ve had.
Before we get into it, here’s this week’s question: Have you ever visited a city that changed how you think about food? That’s how we feel about Istanbul, which is one of the world’s great food cities. Details are in the podcast.
The Grand Bazaar is one of the can’t-miss attractions in Istanbul, along with the Blue Mosque, Grotto, and Hippodrome.
People love cats here and treat them like gods. There’s also quite a variety of cat types, like this one. Aren and I miss being around cats, so this visit was very therapeutic.
What would a trip to Istanbul be without a boat ride on the Bosphorus? We actually spent more time on the water on this trip than the last one, mostly moving between the European and Asian side or up and down the strait. It’s cold and rainy in Istanbul this time of year, but the views along the Bosphorus are always spectacular.
Don’t forget this week’s question: Have you ever visited a city that changed how you think about food?
