Our most surprising experience was in Babcok Thailand. we arrived at the airport at 2:30 a m waiting to be picked up by the cruise line.they forgot the international dateline. anyway,the next day was such a culture shock. thousands of TukTuks and and motor scooters with 4 or 5 people on them, chaotic and scary traffic. But, the most welcoming and lovely people we had ever met.
