The war against hidden hotel fees is is finally nearing an end — maybe.

The Hotel Fees Transparency Act of 2025 sailed through the Senate Commerce Committee earlier this year and appears headed for passage. It builds on Federal Trade Commission (FTC) rules that already took effect this May, requiring hotels to display the total price upfront — including those notorious resort fees, parking charges, and Wi-Fi costs.

But here's the big question: Will this actually end the practice of hidden fees, or will hotels simply find new ways to game the system?
