I think canceling a vacation outside of sudden security or health concerns is basically poor planning as these are all questions you should ask yourself and address before you start making reservations. Second I learned form COVID not to prepay anything that I can't guarantee I will get back or can cancel without a penalty. Refundable airlines tickets, book now pay on arrival hotels, car rentals the same, Viator etc side experiences are cancellable up to 24 hrs before your tour. I always get medical insurance but not travel insurance-unless I was going to prepay some type of cruise which I try not to do. I was thinking of doing a Viking River cruise next year but wouldn't pay it a year and a half in advance like they want and would grab a sale early next year and would buy separate travel insurance but not from them. Finally as I have noted on previous posts we travel in the shoulder seasons and expect cooler weather and fewer crowds. You only live once and traveling smart is a big part of living as far as I am concerned.

Hell no I am not cancelling. I am looking forward to getting out of this political environment for a nice break. Of course I will immediately become "Canadian" while traveling overseas. No one respects America anymore. Headed to Iceland in 3 weeks!
