Warning: Holiday airfares are soaring

Thanksgiving airfares are up 25 percent from last year. Here's what to do.

Don't be fooled by the headlines that say airfares are down. This year's Thanksgiving ticket prices are trending 25 percent higher than 2021 rates, according to new research by online booking site CheapAir.

The average roundtrip Thanksgiving airfare is $558 today (it rose $5 from yesterday).
