Please do not assume that there are not a very lot of folks who really enjoy "football weather" with its promise of future white, fluffy snow to play in and with a Christmas and a bundled-up Santa in a more appropriate setting than next to a cactus or under a palm tree.

I spend my winter months in Thailand close to the beach. In a small fishing village.

Kakopatria is a wonderful place - sort of a magical antiquity dropped into the mountains of Cyprus. We'd been along the searingly hot coast in August and welcomed the relative cool of this stoney village with it's skinny little streets. A delightful surprise and treasured memory.

French Polynesia is my favorite warm weather destination. Being so close to the equator, the temperature is almost always 80F. Rangiroa in the Tuamotu Island is like blue lagoon paradise and not crowded.

I’ve been to every continent except for the Poles! Just back from Palm Springs; have two trips planned in 2023: Hawaii, and a combination train and cruise trip from New York to Halifax, Saint Edwards island, etc. I’m 84, but not slowing down yet!

Chris- regarding a destination that has changed your life forever, what immediately comes to mind is the Dachau concentration camp on our 1975 self-guided trip to Europe. “Sobering” doesn’t adequately describe its impact, and I frequently call it to mind when I think I’m in a tough or stressful situation. Perspective…
