Frontier Airlines shocked air travelers this week when it admitted to paying its agents a bonus for collecting luggage fees.

The airline reportedly offers employees $10 for each bag charged at the gate. Frontier defended the policy, insisting that it was incentivizing employees “to ensure compliance with the bag size requirements to ensure all customers are treated fairly, including the majority who comply with the rules.”
