I took wind surfing lessons in St. Maarten while on a Royal Caribbean cruise. The water was calm but it was very windy. I never did get up on the board and fell over so many times it was not fun. Luckily, the water sport company let me change to water skiing. After telling the driver of the boat not to go super fast, I had a great time, I have a memory I will always remember.

I was in a bakery in Paris and there was the most luscious looking chocolate dessert and it was quite pricey. I was so afraid of being disappointed the with taste at that price that I passed - and have regretted it ever since. And thinking we were short on time (turned out we weren't) did not by the combo ticket for both castles at King Ludwig's castle.

I find something to like everywhere. If there was one regret it was regretting not staying longer in a surprise location. We found a tiny village in Norway, on a raging river next to a towering waterfall. It was incredibly beautiful and we regretted booking only one night or not moving there permanently.

We won a parasailing trip in the Bahamas and I soon found myself able to look across the island, attached to a flimsy rope. It was an awful feeling. I landed ok bit later learned another person in the cruise had broken his leg on that ride…never again.

One a private sleeper unit on an overnight train from Paris to Venice we had trouble with the lock so didn’t lock it again after the five am bathroom trip. We fell back asleep and someone came in and stole all our cash ($2000) from our wallets! Fortunately, the thief left us our passports and credit cards. The police at the Venice train station intimidated us when we tried to report it.

Some years ago I was on a trip to the Puerto Rican island Vieques with a Sierra Club group, mostly for snorkeling, visiting the bioluminescent bay, and paddle boarding. One day we stopped at the base of a magnificent tree to take a group picture. Owners of horses on the island let them roam few until they need them, and there was a herd grazing nearby. One horse walked up very close to our group, and was standing right next to me. The horse's mane was full of burrs, and I reached out in my helpful way to remove some of them. Bad move! The horse took a few steps forward, and kicked me with his hind leg in the groin so hard that I flew through the air, landing on my back. Fortunately my head wasn't hurt because the base of the tree was covered with moss, but the resulting bruise in my groin had everyone in the group offering me their supply of ibuprofen for the pain. Never get close to a strange horse!!!!
