It's been 123 days since the government issued a fine against an airline. You probably haven't noticed — but I'll bet the airlines have.

The last ticket written by the Department of Transportation's (DOT) Office of Aviation Consumer Protection was a blockbuster $35 million fine against Southwest Airlines for its holiday flight disruptions last year. That happened on December 11.

Since then, crickets.
