A rash of last-minute cancellations is leaving our readers high and dry. Here's what to do.

Just before Greg Marquise boarded his recent flight from Charlotte to Paris, the owner of his Airbnb in Nice, France, contacted him with some bad news: Because of "plumbing issues," his rental was canceled.

And he's not alone. Sudden vacation rental cancellations are spiking this summer, according to our case records. I even experienced a last-minute cancellation in Indonesia. (More on that in a minute.)
