Even though the government shutdown appears to be over, don’t expect it to translate into problem-free travel this week.

Airlines canceled almost 3,000 flights yesterday in an effort to comply with the Federal Aviation Administration’s mandatory 10 percent flight reduction. When those restrictions lift, it could still take days for airline schedules to return to normal.
