Please stop checking your valuables on a flight.
I wish I could have warned Shanker Phuyal about that before he checked a bag from Nepal to Luxembourg. On the final leg of his flight, his airline, Luxair, lost his luggage.
"A Luxair representative assured me that my luggage would be located and returned within a few days," he recalls. "But this stretched into weeks. This situation rendered my visit essentially futile, as I had packed not only essentials but also valuable gifts for my friends."
How valuable? He'd brought more than $3,000 worth of gifts.
