Here's how to avoid mice in your Airbnb or Vrbo rental

When Michael Dobbs checked into his Airbnb in Powell, Wyoming, he had company: The ranch home was infested with mice. When he complained to Airbnb, it promised to refund 12 of his 13 nights and give him a coupon for $677 that he could use on a non-infested rental.

Dobbs contacted me because he couldn't use the coupon — and, at the very least, he wanted a refund for his first night in the mouse house.

"We've been on the phone and online chat with Airbnb for hours and have been denied all of our requests," he says.
