Last week, Vice President J.D. Vance, joined by Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, warned of a looming “disaster” in U.S. air travel if the current federal shutdown drags into the holiday rush.
They’re concerned that unpaid and overstretched air-traffic controllers, TSA agents and other essential staff might abandon posts, triggering mass delays, flight cancellations and systemic breakdowns.
