Consumer Alert: Are refund delays part of a new business model?
We've been flooded with refund cases. What's going on?
It happened to Xinhui Zhao when she tried to get a refund from Booking.com in January. The company simply refused to return her $1,265 even though she was entitled to all of her money back.
It is happening to hundreds of Vantage Travel customers, too. The company has promised them refunds but is making them wait months — and sometimes years. All these cases have made my advocacy team wonder: Are refund delays part of the new, post-pandemic business model?
