The airline industry is moving quickly to dismantle consumer protections put in place during the last four years. Last week, the major U.S. airlines asked the Transportation Department to drop a proposal to compensate passengers for flight disruptions.
A court has also blocked a new rule requiring upfront disclosure of airline service fees, saying the government had not complied with procedural rules.
