NZ, unlike LAX, has unique food in that no herbicides, pesticides, and GMO are used. Plus, anything dairy or meat are grass fed which gives amazing flavor; probably lost on your vegan diets.
Favorite meal - Catch, the beachside seafood restaurant, St Regis in Abu Dhabi. Lobster sliders on squid ink buns. After meal, chef brought a complimentary dish. Caviar for dessert?!? But it was molecular gastronomy of coffee manipulated into pearls that look like caviar. Atop tiramisu and decorated with gold leaf.
What’s this about? “ Now, I realize that the New Zealand tourism officials are probably not too happy that we continue to report on our adventures from the South Island. (After all, keeping people away from here is their job.)”
Try vultrump’s on King Street
My favorite thing to eat in Christchurch was Fish ‘n Chips. Been a few years but I could pretty much live on that.
Pic's peanut butter is the best, no sugar, no salt. Have it shipped from NZ, it's that good.

In general I usually look for a great dish of Fish and Chips at some point of a trip.
