Hi from Berlin!
We’ve been exploring the German capital and we also made a side trip to Hamburg. We can’t wait to tell you all about it in this podcast.
But before we do, here’s this week’s question:
What’s the best walking city you’ve ever visited? And what’s the worst? (Also, please tell us why.) We’re asking because Berlin is easily one of the best cities to walk in — it has wide sidewalks and is easy to navigate.
Berlin is one of our top destinations for 2024. There’s so much to do, and getting around the city is easy. We’ve tried to stay away from tourist traps and instead focus on authentic places like residential neighborhoods, local hangouts, and urban gardens. We’ll tell you all about it in the podcast.
Our trip to Hamburg was a little surreal. We stayed in an old WW II-era bunker, which has been converted into a hotel. I’ll have details on this new property in an upcoming article.
Hamburg has a very different vibe from the last time I was there in the 90s. There were parts of town that I didn’t even recognize. Alas, our visit was far too short — we’ll have to come back.
Hey, don’t forget this week’s question: What’s the best walking city you’ve ever visited? And what’s the worst?
We’ll read your comments at the end of the next podcast, as always.
