In this episode: We drop in on the coral island to check on their environmental conservation efforts. Here's what we found. (Recorded 5/3/24 in Bridgetown, Barbados)
Even where a lodging's rooms seem identical, at check-in, I may ask staff which is their favorite available room. That usually is greeted with surprise, a smile and, at least once or twice, an upgrade at no extra cost.
When I did my certification dive I was hyperventilating so much I could not descend even with 20+ pounds; my instructor grabbed me and pulled me down. Subsequent dives were much easier with much less weight; I still used much more air than the women I dived with
Learning to dive can be difficult. As an instructor, I would have never pulled you down. But practicing breathing would have helped. As you exhale, you descend. You can use your lungs to naturally achieve neutral buoyancy.
Anyway I always flew in in the class just below 1rst Class until I had an incident on an Air Virgin flight late last year where the person in front of me had his seat back all the way and complained (not to me) to the flight attendant my window shade up was bothering him. (really) It was 10 am and as far as I know there is no airline policy or FAA requirement other than "courtesy" that I am required to lower the shade. Anyway I was pretty upset. The guy never asked me, and I did put it down, but my question to myself was "Why am I paying a $1000 more per seat for this BS? I may as well travel in Economy and if something sucks at least I didnt overpay. Then I was upgraded on a flight in January to First Class and I was astonished at how it was even worse than it used to be. Crappy food in plastic trays, they went around once for drinks on a 5-hour flight. SO now I go economy but get my seats as soon as the flights open up and get Emergency row seats (but YES I keep my seat belt on!). I get the extra leg room, the person in front of me is not in my lap and I just feel so much less stressed about about the whole experience since I'm paying a $1000 less per seat because I wasnt getting a whole lot more for paying more.

I like this advice. I'd go the extra mile for someone who asked my my opinion. :)
Keep up the great efforts, great post!! Sincerely,
cheers,

I learned how to use the train schedules in Europe to travel to a few countries. Got lost only once.

I think airlines should require window shades to be up for takeoff and landing for safety reasons
Youre right they do.
Not Delta!
