Abu Dhabi - went because of your posts. Three visits and I still struggle to describe it properly. Misconception is covered women and stays in tents in desert. People struggle to understand it's not Saudi Arabia, but beautiful, modern, safe and clean. People shake their heads when I say Cleveland Clinic, Louvre Museum...
Hope you're going to NZ next, lived there for 2 yrs and visit for at least a month every year.
Wonderful place, thanks for your Abu Dhabi posts. May end up spenfing winters there and summers in Norway...unless you post about some other amazing place.
Churchill, Manitoba in winter - the worst place in the world. The best place in the world. Desolate, isolated, depressing, exciting and thrilling. Land of the polar bears❣️❣️❣️
Turkmenistan - those huge gold plated statues, wide avenues with few cars, well appointed bus stops with newspapers to borrow and read while waiting, buildings covered in marble, the cheerful and pleasant people. Not what I was expecting of a heavy duty dictatorship!
Our second in command is repatriating an Australian citizen to Melbourne this evening. It is never a problem finding one of our team willing to fly to Australia!
The sunsets in Botswana have the most intense colors. There’s a mysterious attraction to Africa which continues to cause one to yearn to return.
I also struggle to properly describe New Zealand because it is like everywhere on earth, but at the same time, like nowhere on earth.
We will have a report from NZ next week.
I grew up in New Zealand and I still miss the rain!

Yes, Abu Dhabi is difficult to summarize, but easy to like. It's still one of our favorites.

That's on our list. I think you can still get a train up there.
Yes the tracks were repaired. I am going back a second time in November but flying in. Calm Air is the only scheduled air service.
