Definition of government;

“Of the people “

“By the people “

“For the people “

Now it seems untrue everywhere.

It is;

“ Of the rich people “

“ By the burocrates”

“For the lobbyists “

Nothing is for the common man.

Hopefully in 2028 there will be a major change in the White House, where the administration sides with the people and not big business.

I'm shocked, I say, shocked. Lobbyists taking full advantage of this administration's allegiance to the almighty dollar and the ultimate goal of oligarchs deciding how the life of the unwashed masses will play out - who woulda thunk it?

We are so royally screwed. Even IF Congress takes a stand, it will mean nothing. They are simply figureheads even now. Their powers have been totally usurped by the Fascist ruling by executive order, the one who ignores orders from the courts with impunity.

Losing our rights is fast and easy right now, getting them restored is going to take forever IF this regime allows elections in the future and that's a big "if" right now. We may as well get used to being treated like crap by the airlines. Add it to the list of ways to screw us out of health care, food, education, and consumer protections.

I can foresee the FLY FOR FREE! scenario with all the add on fees. How would that be taxed, i.e. based on the cost of just the flight or on the sum of all the add ons? Taxing authorities want to know.

Not just airlines.

Feel that many companies have shifted their focus away from customers to making as much money as they can. ☹️

Again our USA government cares more about business bottom line than the people. We are living in sad times. Get out and vote

I think it is up to each consumer to continue to fight for their rights. We need to hold the airline industry accountable in every way possible. I always remind people that we have choices. We can choose where to spend our money or not. Sometimes, the bottom line is all that makes a difference.

Transactional versus relational, we really need to reward relational and not transactional. Un fortunately everything seems to boil down to transactional

A small win in a war that's impossible to win, but in the nightmare days when airlines deliberately separated families, I finally decided on one trip to say, sure, why not? When I was offered the opportunity to pay a fair amount of money to seat us together I said no, my four-year-old can sit wherever you want to put him. Ten minutes of his hyperactivity at the gate while waiting eventually led to us being seated together at no charge. My point? Look for malicious compliance opportunities whenever possible and turn this greed back on them. Voucher rather than refund? See you in small claims court. Last minute excess fees? Exit the browser without purchasing or canceling. Make it as unpleasant for them as they do for us since it will cost them money. And don't forget Amtrak--more time but soooo much more pleasant.

I've never paid for seat assignment. Wife and I always end up next to each other, but if not, our love will endure despite 4 hours apart.

Big business wants to screw over the little people? Just another day ending in "y."

However! People vote with their feet, right? A *smart* airline executive would look at this and see an opportunity: We will continue to do what's right for our customers. We promise to properly compensate you for cancellations, delays of [xxx], and we will not force involuntary separation of families. And all our fees will be presented upfront.

Assuming comparable itinerary options, I'm flying with *that* airline.

Of course, whether such a smart executive exists is a whole 'nother story.
